This is a 50s style border print dirndl I whipped up last weekend while watching Rome. The print is of a medieval couple and a St Bernard pulling a cart full of people. I cropped my head out because I had a very odd/angry expression on it. I was probably saying "Hurry up! Take the photo for my blog! I have to get to work!"
I've always eyed the vintage skirts like this on ebay, but they are often 25" waist (not me), very expensive, or both. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy the vintage fabric, which was much less expensive. I won an auction for some vintage Hacienda border print in gorgeous earth tones this week, so I'll be making anonther of these soon.

What a lovely skirt! I've never made a dirndl skirt; how do you do it?

Love the skirt. I'm going on a cruise in May, I think I need to make one of those for the trip.
