If you zoom in on this dress, you'll see its little tiny scottie dogs in red sweater vests. I like it when figural patterns look abstract from a couple of feet away. Both this and the bubble dress I posted over the weekend were made from Advance 8656. Today was 85 glorious degrees and I wore the Scottie Dress to work with a little black sweater.

Which is the perfect 3-yard pattern. I'm tempted to just keep making it again and again in different colors. But that would get boring. I may however frankenstein the skirt - with or without pockets - onto another bodice.

Right now I have quite a fabric backlog. As far as works in progress, I finished the scissor dress, but decided I can't stand the puffed sleeves, and need to take them off and just make it sleeveless (this will require more seam binding). I also took advantage of last week's reprodepot dot sale to buy some Etsuko fabric for a pencil skirt and some light green sundot. I also have a vintage cherry-and-other-red fruit, and vintage egyptian head fabric, which will require something pretty fabulous.

I bought these 4 patterns on ebay. As you can see, I've made top left twice and top right once (the hostess dress). I think bottom right is next, perhaps the one in red. Bottom left isn't really calling me.

That is an amazing dress. I love it so much! Don't think I could pull off the scotties, but what a delicious pattern!

I'm loving your sun dresses, your hostess dress was divine - a themed dress for every occasion, what a sophisticated wardrobe.

I LOVE this scottie dress! This is a great pattern too, and you're a doll!
Was this fabric vintage or new?
