I've had the week between Christmas and New Years off, so I did a lot of sewing (when not battling the mice that have invaded my kitchen, cleaning (see mouse invasion), reading, and otherwise trying to get my life in order and keep on keepin' on in the face of some difficult personal stuff. Its amazing how much better a good sewing project makes me feel.
This, believe it or not, is from the same pattern as the brown party dress, although with the bottom from a different dress (I love how you can mix and match pieces between patterns of the same size, brand, and vintage). Its in black worsted wool with an inset of B&W houndstooth wool.
And this is a shirtdress made from the same houndstooth wool. I made a similar one a while ago in salt and pepper wool which I still havent posted. This one has a side zip for access and a single bound button hole. The belt I did not make - its patent leather from Ann Taylor Loft.

What an impressive new wardrobe! Love all of it.
Hope that things get better on the domestic front (not only with mice battles) soon.
